Complex low-pass filters

Zero-if transceivers suffer from the imbalance of the I and Q paths. By using a complex low-pass filter topology instead of a conventional pair of real low-pass filters, this imperfection can be reduced. Both analytical and numerical analysis show that the proposed technique is significantly more robust to circuit imperfections than the traditional architecture.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Impedance-matched low-pass stripline filters

We have constructed several impedance-matched low-pass filters using a stripline geometry with a dissipative dielectric. The filters are compact, simple to construct, and operate in cryogenic environments. The dissipative dielectric consists of magnetically-loaded silicone or epoxy, which is commercially available under the trade name Eccosorb. For a stripline length of 32 mm, the filters have ...

Low-pass Filters and Representations of the Baumslag Solitar Group

We analyze representations of the Baumslag Solitar group BS(1, N) = 〈u, t | utu = t 〉 that admit wavelets and show how such representations can be constructed from a given low-pass filter. We describe the direct integral decomposition for some examples and derive from it a general criterion for the existence of solutions for scaling equations. As another application, we construct a Fourier tran...

Explanation of Feynman’s paradox concerning low-pass filters

In Feynman’s lectures there is a remark about the limiting value of the impedance of an n-section ladder consisting of purely reactive elements (capacitances and inductances). The remark is that the limiting impedance z = limn→∞ zn has a positive real part. He notes that this is surprising since the real part of each zn is zero, therefore it is impossible for the limit to have a positive real p...
